what they built

what is phntm !? phntm lives in your mac. it sees your screen, moves your mouse, types on your keyboard, and gets things done while you're nowhere near it. no app to install on your phone. no new account. you text it like a friend, facetime it like a friend, and it handles everything like the friend who never says no. use cases: a meta internship just went live and you're across town. text "apply to the meta swe internship with my resume". phntm opens the posting, fills out the form, attaches your resume, and texts you when it's sent. you got it in before your coffee cooled. your group project is stuck in a group chat that goes nowhere. start a group facetime with phntm on the line. argue it out, land on a plan, and phntm builds it live on a shared screen while everyone watches. the meeting ends and the work is already done. under the hood: a fastapi backend watches imessage for texts from you, dials facetime with applescript, and streams call audio to openai's realtime model — elevenlabs talks back through a virtual mic. tasks run on openai's computer-use model: it screenshots, clicks, and types with real input. a tiny electron island floats over everything showing live status. no cloud, no app, just your mac doing mac things. say "ft me" and it facetimes you, shares its screen, and talks you through every click in real time. say "stop" and it freezes. say "status" and it tells you exactly where it is. it lives on your mac, only answers to you, and asks before anything risky. text it. call it. forget it. phntm. your mac, on call.
